Kim Rittberg & her Henry Street Media, LLC production company and the nonprofit ‘It Gets Better’ has been recognized for 2 major awards a Telly Award and a MarCom award for our comprehensive video project entitled ‘LGBTQ+ Fundamentals.’

The project was to create videos for the #1 landing page for It Gets Better to explain terms that teens and their allies may not be familiar with. The work we did together will impact millions and millions of teens. The landing page is a vital resource for teens and allies to learn more and the videos speak to its audience in a creative, engrossing and supportive way.

I feel honored to have been a part of it. My goal was to use my decade as a TV news journalist and merge it with my background in art and creative marketing to have informative but playful definitions for each word. I opted for 3 styles: animated, graphical with cut out footage and narrative with real people sharing their own experience. I brought on specific artists, designer and editors to make each style come to life but worked on an overarching creative style so the series felt cohesive.

I worked with an amazing team and am so proud of all the talent both in front of and behind the scenes and our incredible client and collaborator It Gets Better.
