How to Make Interesting Videos when Your Sector Isn't Glamorous
I was out with my son and we ran into a juggler on a random afternoon in Brooklyn, New York. After an impromptu juggling lesson, I filmed him and was thinking about the visual & entertaining expectations we believe exist around content!
This correlates to a client question I get all the time: How do I make interesting content when my actual work isn't very visual or glamorous?
MY ANSWER: No problem at all!
The important thing is to bring value specifically to your audience. You don't actually need to be on a yacht in the ocean or filming from a mountain top! Of course there's value in making your videos more visually interesting, but what really makes them engaging is bring value to your specific audience. What can someone walk away thinking “Oh I really learned something new today. That was really interesting for me.” This is not related to having a visually glamorous business or working in a buzzy sector. This means really understanding what your audience is interested in learning about and then delivering it.
