WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT LIFE AND BUSINESS FROM SEEING TAYLOR SWIFT ERAS TOUR

I saw Taylor Swift this weekend.

This was a true carpe diem moment.

I wasn’t a Swiftie until my daughter was.

As a TV producer, I remembered covering her winning Grammys as a teenager, and I was extremely impressed by her.

I was also blown away by how she has stood up herself and changed the music industry for so many.

But once my daughter became a Swiftie, I started listening to her music and I realized what an incredible poet she was.

Seeing her in concert that made me realize she has the ability to make people feel connected to her.

She seems like a real person. Despite being a gagillionaire (it’s a word right) you got the sense that these songs were about real moments in her life

And even when she was saying, kind things, the audience they seemed genuine, she gave specific compliments to the audience that felt personal.

She also built a community between people - as people brought their home made friendship bracelets, and swapped with others, making new friends along the way.

We all felt a part of something bigger.

So what does this mean for us mortals?

Even if you don’t have enough fans or followers to sell out stadiums, we can all take a lesson of being a little more honest and open about how we’re feeling in any moment.

And we all be working harder to build connections between us but also between those people in our world.
