A real estate agent client of mine, Randy Baruh who is a Top 1% Real Estate Agent in New York City, hired me to advise him on digital marketing strategy and social media strategy. Randy was recently interviewed on RISMedia’s Real Edge series by Daniel Ramsey about how he’s successfully using social media to grow his real estate business. I saw Randy was doing amazing on TikTok specifically - which is a lot of visually stunning home tours and incredible luxury properties. He also had great neighborhood tours featuring his favorite spots with some fun history in them. I wanted to add in more educational content that could firmly showcase his expertise.

In Randy’s words: “Kim said, ‘You know what Randy? You’re an expert, you’ve been doing real estate for so long. You need more educational videos. Teaching people what it’s like to fill out a board package, or how to buy an apartment, how to sell an apartment, about interest rates, all sorts of stuff. You need to add that component.’”....

We also built a solid machine. One of his goals was to create consistent content, that would be more turnkey throughout the year. I helped him build a system.

“We now have a machine. I worked with my strategist, Kim, for 6 months. She was incredible. She came up with branding so that everything looks pretty and consistent and organized and professional. The fonts, color schemes and all that stuff. It’s really helped grow my brand online. As a matter of fact, I have a great referral business from real estate agents all over the country who follow me on the different social media channels. It’s been incredible.”

FOR REALTORS ON SOCIAL MEDIA - HOW CONTENT CAN GROW YOUR BUSINESS:

When you’re in a business that is so reliant on relationships like real estate, once you build a laser-focused content strategy (like I do!), the benefits are multiple:

-Establish a professional ‘brand’ that is larger than 1 person. This is done through really deliberate and strategic branding, messaging, visuals, colors, fonts.

-Establish how you are different from the competition. Establishing a unique point of view through content is really effective. Clients, contacts, potential clients, neighborhood people understand how you are different than the competition, what your personality is like and what it will be like to work with you. Compare a static photo to a video where you are showcasing both your knowledge of your area, the real estate market and your personality.

-Build a larger network. This agent saw referrals grow and landed a multimillion dollar sale through the YouTube video series we came up with together.

Another interesting fact - when this agent came to me, he was already doing really well on social media, had a big following on TikTok, but enlisted me to help with digital marketing strategy and content. Basically he wanted a consistent content creation machine.
